Which is the best type of graph to show ranking?
-
If we rank claims from most to least frequent, which service category would be at the top of the list (most frequent)?
-
Which would be at the bottom?
-
Is this true for both Eastern and Northern Zones, or do the rankings differ?

Bar graphs make rankings easier to visualize because a quick comparison can be done based on the size of the bars. For the Northern Zone, the service category that produces the most claims is Curative Care Visits (1110); the service category with the least amount of claims is Speech Therapy (1). For the Eastern Zone, while the service category with the most claims is also Curative Care Visits (987), the service categories with the least amount of claims are Inpatient Medical and Inpatient Obstetrics (2).

Bar graphs are the best graphs to show ranking because they show categorical subdivisions of a measure, ordered by size, which allows us to quickly compare values.
The service category with the most frequent claims is Curative Care Visits in both the Eastern and Northern Zones. The service categories with the least frequent claims are Inpatient Medical and Inpatient Obstetrics in the Eastern Zone and Speech Therapy in the Northern Zone.

The best type of graph to show ranking would be a bar graph so the reader is able to quickly view the size of each category in reference to one another.
For the class dataset, the service category with the most frequent claims is the same in both the Northern and Eastern Zones – Curative Care visits. In the Eastern zone, the service categories with the least frequent claims are Inpatient Medical and Inpatient Obstetrics. In the Northern Zone, the service category with the least frequent number of claims is Speech Therapy.

The best type of graph to show ranking is a bar/column graph. To make ranking very clear to see, the pivot table can be formatted to display the service categories ranked in descending order of claims, this will create a pivot chart with the bars also displayed in proper ranking order (service category with the highest number of claims to the lowest). For both the Northern and Eastern Zones, Curative Care Visits have the most number of claims, 1110 claims and 987 claims, respectively. For the Northern Zone, Speech Therapy is ranked last with only 1 claim, while in the Eastern Zone Inpatient Medical and Inpatient Obstetrics are ranked last, both with 2 claims.

Ranking is best represented by a bar graph, either in descending order to highlight high values or ascending to highlight low values.
The highest-ranking service category for both Northern and Eastern zones is Curative Care Visit (1110 and 589, respectively).
The lowest ranking service category for the Northern zone is Speech Therapy (1); For the Eastern zone, it is tied between Inpatient Medical and Inpatient Obstetrics (2). -

Bar graphs show rankings very well as they give you a nice visual to compare sizes. Without looking at numbers, you can easily understand instantly which items include the highest or lowest values.
Curative care visits is the highest ranking service category for both the Northern and Eastern Zones. The lowest ranking service category for the Northern Zone is Speech therapy and both inpatient medical and obstetrics are died for the lowest ranking service category in the Eastern Zone. -

Bar graphs are best for showing rankings, as it is visually easy to compare the sizes of the bars across categories, particularly when bars are arranged in descending order of value. If we looked at all claims in both the Northern and Eastern Zones and ranked service categories from most to least frequent, Curative Care would be at the top of the list (2097 total claims) and Inpatient Surgery would be at the bottom (6 total claims). For both the Northern and Eastern Zones, the highest ranking service category is Curative Care. For the Northern Zone, the lowest ranking category is Speech Therapy (1 claim), while for the Eastern Zone it is Inpatient Medical and Inpatient Obstetrics (2 claims each).

A bar graph with data sorted from least to most is visually good for ranking. Curative care visits (in both primary and specialty care) practice type is the most frequently used service, with the most in primary care. This is true for both Eastern and northern Zones.
The least frequently used service differs by zone, however, where in the Northern zone, Speech therapy ranks last and in the Eastern zone, Inpatient obstetrics and Inpatient Medical rank the lowest with only 2 claims each.
