Which is the best type of graph to show ranking?
If we rank claims from most to least frequent, which service category would be at the top of the list (most frequent)?
Which would be at the bottom?
Is this true for both Eastern and Northern Zones, or do the rankings differ?

I would say a bar chart would be the best type of graph to show ranking. If we rank claims from most to least frequent the category at the top of the list would be curative care visit and well visit at the bottom. Speech therapy ranks at the bottom in the Northern Zones

Which type of graph do you think is best for showing Flores del Mundo’s membership trends over the course of the year?
Does your answer change if you’re graphing total membership versus employee/spouse/dependent?
Does your answer change if you want to show Eastern and Northern on the same graph?

I am going to say I would like to see a simple line graph showing trends over the course of a year, because it would be easy for an audience to read. I really think I would like to see a pie chart to show totals versus memtypes. I would use a column chart to differentiate Eastern and Northern data on the same graph, though.

I have never seen a histogram used in a presentation or explained in my 20+ year career! Nor have I seen anyone present with a histogram. However, I just think I have never been in a field that required use of either of the charts. I am certain if I spoke with our SPSS instructor, I could find a couple in his box of tools, though.

I think the line graph shows a quick and simple view of what we are looking for in the membership graph. I still think I would like to see the line graph representing total membership for Employee/Spouse/Dependent, only because I like to present a graph that doesnt need to have a lot of time spent in explaining it. Not necessarily, I would say if we were showing many more regions or had the data spread out more, I would change the graph to a pie chart to make it easier for presentation, but I like the presentation as it is.

I am going to say it is not a dashboard, although it does contain data that could be used in a dashboard. The data is not presented in a simple at a glance view nor do I see any predefined conclusions typical of a dashboard format. I think it is more of a report than a dashboard.
